Holiday Breaks and the Effect On School
Editorial By: Dustin Nielsen
Breaks affect people’s academic performance. Most people take tests after the
holiday breaks and when you come back from a break you are usually really tired from
exhaustion. These breaks make it hard to get back in the groove of things we all struggle
with. A lot of students come back from breaks not remembering what they did before the
break.
Personally I feel that if teachers move the tests or quizzes before the break we won't
have to worry about studying tests or quizzes, and we can just hangout and have time
with our families and friends. With family and friends there are a lot of things to do on
the holiday breaks. You never know what is going to turn up. If you wish to have fun and
just hangout well then you might want to get your tests and quizzes done.
With the Provo School District we have a Thanksgiving break from Thursday
November 22 till the following Monday November 26th. Christmas Break goes from
December 20th till January 2nd. The second term for the Provo School District ends on
January eleventh so there isn't very much time for us to study for the tests that we need
to take or the assignments that we need to turn in.
With that I would like to say have fun everybody. Merry Christmas and have a happy
New Year.
